WAYANG calls attention to the struggles of Dutch-Indonesian survivors of WWII and their loved ones, it is a glimpse of how the ravages of war continue to inflict wounds down generations. It was included in the cinema line up of the recently concluded Pasar Malam Istimewa at the Ahoy Rotterdam. The film will be in Dutch and Bahasa.

This time the breakfast is slightly different because they are going to celebrate the birthday of the goldfish El Tigre for the first time since the death of beloved resident Leviy. While preparing for the birthday, everyone finds out that Leviy has left a hole and they do not know how to cope with the grief of her death - a hole they cannot fill with blueberry muffins but with the help of an unknown guest.

Felix introduces Dirk to Dildo Dave, the leader of a bizarre cult that promises to turn Dirk into the man he's always dreamed of becoming. Throughout his journey Dirk keeps expanding his comfort zone more and more, thereby becoming the man he thinks he should be. Until he falls in love with Yara, the girl who works at the local cinema. Yara has a profound influence on Dirk and shows him that he can be liked and loved for who he really is. Because of her, Dirk breaks with his cult of friends which leads to a catastrophic conflict.
